About the Club
In 1957 several people were keen to set up their own dinghy racing club.
In fact, they were so keen that they rolled up their sleeves, dug out an access
track to Harthill Reservoir and worked together to build their own clubhouse.
Today the clubhouse has been extensively refurbished providing facilities that
those early members would not have dreamed of, but the spirit of the club has
remained the same: competition on the water and co-operation off the water.
The club enjoys a family atmosphere which is as supportive to beginners as it
is encouraging for those keen to develop their racing skills.
There is a strong youth section which is helped by the provision of a fleet of 4 club
Toppers and regular training opportunities, under the careful supervision of RYA
qualified instructors.
Facilities
The Clubhouse, which was extensively enlarged and modernised in 1999/2000,
has a welcoming up to date galley and bar, central heating and double glazing
plus comfortable changing rooms with hot showers.
If you already have a boat and would like to keep it at the club, we have a secure
compound providing anchor points to secure all boats. Berths are available as an addition
to the basic membership fee.
The Water
The whole of the water can be seen from the OD box providing a particularly safe environment,
which is further enhanced by safety boat cover whenever the water is in use.
