Rotherham Sailing Club is proud to be supporting Bart’s Bash on Sunday 21st September.

We’re keen to make this a fun, all inclusive family day. It’s an open meeting for the club, so if you have friends and family who’d like to take part because their sailing club isn’t getting involved then invite them along and let them see what Rotherham Sailing Club has to offer and why we’re known as ‘the friendly club’.

There will be one race on the day ‘the main event‘ which will form our entry to Bart’s Bash. It starts at 1pm and will be for approx 45 minutes to an hour. All standards and abilities are encouraged to take part. You will be racing against thousands of people with all levels of ability from Ben Ainslie, the most successful Olympic Sailor ever, to people who’ve only just learnt to sail. From little Optimist dinghies to great big racing yachts. Obviously they won’t all be on our water but our results are submitted and amalgamated together centrally to give you an overall result. The only entry requirements are that you’ve raised £5 in sponsorship for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, or alternatively pay a £5 entry fee that will be donated to the same charity.

Why not sign up on the main Bart’s Bash website here and show your support.

The day will then proceed as a Family Fun Day. An opportunity to bring everyone together to celebrate what we do as a club and not just about the out and out racing we often do on a Sunday. Events will include:
• Social Sailing
• Fun events – we may have a few surprises in store!
• BBQ
• For those of you who own them why not bring your windsurfer or kayak down and make the most of the water
