Unfortunately, due to the Canal and Rivers Trust needing to lower the water level at Harthill reservoir to make some repairs to both the dam and access roads we have a shortage of water which has led to the difficult decision to cancel the Streaker Open scheduled for Saturday 19th September. As promised, following the successful training course that’s just been run, we’ve added some more Social Sailing Dates to the calendar; Weds 15th July Fri 17th July Fri 24th July Fri 31st July 6.30pm start for all dates. Friday 5th June sees Rotherham Sailing Club hosting a Social Sailing evening. Get your boat on the water and have some fun, practice some of those things you want to improve or hire one of the club boats and try sometthing different altogether. Pie and Pea Series is almost here
The nights are slightly longer following the change of clocks and that can mean only one thing – Thursday night Pie and Peas is back! Thursday 23rd April is the opening date for our first race. Usual format; 1 race, pie and peas afterwards in the clubhouse including a catch up with friends and maybe a beer if you’re not driving. Reminder about sailing weekend of 18th and 19th April
Don’t forget that for the weekend of the 18th and 19th April we have switched dates. The model; yacht section are hosting a regatta and will be using the water on Sunday 19th April. Dinghy racing will be on Saturday 18th April and there will just be 2 races, with the Open Water swimmers using the water from 2pm onwards.
