The Winter Series starts on Sunday November 1st and runs until Boxing Day. Each Sunday there will be 2 races , the first starting at 11am. On Boxing Day there will be 1 race starting at 11am It looks like a lot of people are planning on Sailing the series this year which is great. Barts Bash 2015 – Rotherham Sailing Club 12pm, September 20th, Harthill Reservoir. Our Bart`s Bash Team is already to go, the course has been set and measured, the wind speed checked and boats rigged. A 4.9 knot, south westerly, gentle breeze, a cloudy sky with a glimmer of blue, a heron watching on, and young grebes feeding sets the scene at our picturesque reservoir. Following the decision to cancel the Streaker Open due to a shortage of water, club sailing will now be available again on Sunday 20th September. This is the day of the national event, Bart’s Bash. We’d like to encourage as many club members as possible to get on the water for this event, to show our support for this great charity, but would also remind members of the shallow water at the moment and the need for extra precaution. read moreStreaker Open Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to the Canal and Rivers Trust needing to lower the water level at Harthill reservoir to make some repairs to both the dam and access roads we have a shortage of water which has led to the difficult decision to cancel the Streaker Open scheduled for Saturday 19th September. Club sailing is still available but members should be mindful of the lower water levels and the possibility of grounding daggerboards/centreboards etc. We hope to see the Streaker circuit back at Rotherham SC in 2016
