A chance to get dressed up, celebrate a great years sailing completed with the prize giving and a look forward to the new season starting a few weeks later. read moreThe day dawned bright but with little wind and a mist over the water. This though cleared and the breeze picked up. A simple course was set and 10 boats took to the chilly water only a few minutes after 11. The fleet featured a visitor, Sam Meetham now sailing a gents solo in keeping with his family image, with a new daughter (only 4 days old supporting dad!) it looks like his fireball days are now behind him? read moreNine Lasers entered the first Laser Open for many years at Rotherham Sailing Club on Sunday 1st September; it was a sunny day with a westerly wind. Olli Thompson arrived first at the windward mark, but rounded it the wrong way Matt Chambers was first to round correctly. By the end of the first lap Matt was followed by Abi Cooper sailing a Radial, and her father Chris, returning to a Laser, in fourth. By the second lap Olli had worked up to third. read moreNineteen Streakers entered the second event on the Sail Register sponsored Streaker Northern Paddle series on Saturday 4th May. The wind was fairly light with some interesting gusts, the direction continued to shift during the day. And as a small water the dam wall and the trees gave some interesting challenges for most of the day. In the first race the boats quickly headed to the windward mark at.
