Social Sailing has been taking place for the last few weeks, to get used to the water again and racing has also now recommenced. The usual Thursday night Pie & Pea Series is back up and running, proving popular again and according to chief taster (Rex) the pies are even better than before! The latest information received from Canal & Rivers Trust, is that the works on the dam wall have been further delayed. They are now expecting a completion date around May, with water being let back into thew reservoir and allowed to increase to its maximum level from April onwards. This is a further disappointment with a second delay now being encountered, however hopefully we will be back on the water very quickly.

Following the government’s recent advice about the changes to Coronavirus restrictions and the advice that unlimited exercise is now allowed we have been looking at what may be possible for sailing and our members. Whilst it is clear that sailing individually is allowed, as a club event this still remains difficult.  The recent rule changes are quite clear – the restrictions on clubs and social gathering have not been lifted however...

In our last update we advised that the club would be closed until the end of April and that we would provide an update shortly after Easter as to the availability of the club and when we intended to re-open. At the risk of sounding like a Government Daily Press Briefing, we will at all times follow Government advice and as I’m sure many of you are aware the current Lockdown on the country has been extended until at least the 7th May....
